What can soft tissue therapy treat?
This is an evolving list of the ailments and conditions that soft tissue therapy can have results with.
Soft tissue therapy works with the soft tissues of the body, namely muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, skin, scar tissue etc. It is not a cure all and cannot rid you of disease unfortunately. However, what it can do, is provide some very real results in terms of pain relief, movement and flexibility with regards to many permanent medical conditions.
It can also have amazing effects on posture, muscle pain, sports injuries, rehabilitation from surgery and many other things. Over the next few weeks I will delve into some of the conditions in more detail and this list will grow but for now here is the list.
Who is it for?
I treat a broad range of people both in terms of their needs but also in age. I’ve helped a 14 year old with leg issues relating to football, I’ve helped an 86 year old having trouble sleeping from a stiff neck, athletes with sports injuries and people suffering from permanent medical conditions such as Fibromyalgia and Parkinson’s.
Whether I can help depends largely on you. Some people find the process and treatment has amazing results for them almost immediately. For others its a slower process and for some an alternative solution is required.
What you can always expect from me is a realistic assessment of what I can do and how I might be able to help, a caring approach with a genuine interest in your situation and a desire to help, and if I can’t an honest opinion on how I think the best way forward for you could be, often with a referral to other professionals. I am a member of the IRSM (institute of sport and remedial massage) who’s code of ethics I adhere to.
